What is RCMEA?

The Rockland County Music Educators Association (RCMEA) is comprised of 150 members from various public and private school districts across the county.   It is the county unit of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), a 130,000 member National organization. 

Mission Statement

The mission of the RCMEA is to foster and promote music in the schools of Rockland County and to advocate the educational value of music through program opportunities.   RCMEA’s purposes also include fostering professional growth, leadership, and mutual understanding among its members; offering opportunities for outstanding school musicians to appear in all-county choirs, bands, and orchestras; and to encourage lifelong participation in musical activities.
